Bato, Nahuli Na?
Jimmy Bondoc vague-posts on his Facebook account:
Bad news is coming. Pray hard that it is not true, for the good of the nation.
The post has already been deleted.
There is speculation that Atty. Bondoc, the senator’s legal counsel, is referring to fugitive Senator Bato dela Rosa finally being arrested after hiding for months.
Fugitive Harry Roque also posts on his Facebook account:
Meron nga daw na nang- hudas kay Bato
In a brief interview with GMA News, Senator Ping Lacson says that he has received no information from the NBI, the PNP, and the AFP that Senator Bato has been arrested.
The next day, Malacañang asserts that the rumor of Senator Bato’s arrest was only a diversionary tactic to distract the public from the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, which is currently tackling VP Sara’s misuse of confidential funds.
